Special Economic Zones (SEZ) & Export Oriented Units (EOU) are created to make the products more competitive in the export market by avoiding many taxes like Customs duty, GST etc. on their Input materials for their Authorised operations.
Units to take approval from the Development commissioner for tax free entry of their input materials & Services. Also there are exemptions / reductions in other taxes like Income tax & MAT ( Minimum Alternate Tax).
They have single Window clearance for Central & State government approval.
