Cargo can go by Sea Freight or Air Freight. Sea Freight is Cheaper, but time taking as it takes few weeks to reach European ports from India, with transhipment at Colombo / Salala / Singapore port. Airfreight can be faster, but costly. Take a judicious decision on which mode to send goods taking in to consideration the urgency of getting materials & cost involvement.
Goods can be despatched in LCL ( Less than Container Load ) mode or FCL ( Full Container Load) mode. Containers are either 20 Foot or 40 Foot long. It can be GP ( General Purpose) Dry containers or Reefer containers for transport of Perishable cargo. Containers can be Closed Top or Open Top or High Cube (HC) to accommodate more cargo volume. Bulk materials like Timber or Roofing sheets can be despatched as Break Bulk.
